William J. Fry, M.D. Obituary

Dear Members of the Frederick A Coller Surgical Society,

It is with a great deal of sadness that I write to let you know that our dear friend and colleague Bill Fry passed away on Memorial Day after a relatively short illness.

Bill served as President of the Coller Society in 1977-78. I have attached a copy of his obituary and a link to the Ann Arbor News obituary for your information. There will be a memorial service in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, June 13 at 4:00PM at the Barton Hills Country Club. The location referenced in the Ann Arbor News obituary has changed.

Planning for the William J Fry Professorship in Surgery, referenced in the obituary, was put in motion by Mike Mulholland with Bill and Marty's enthusiastic support and unanimous support of the Coller Council before the onset of Bill's illness.

Mike and I will be forwarding specific information regarding the Fry Professorship to members of the Society in the near future. Marty has requested that donations be made to support this effort.
